Since joining High Function Fitness and training with Emily and Jeremy, I can truly say it has changed my life. I have always had a hard time in the gym setting. Being deaf has made it even more of a challenge for me.
I have always had a hard time communicating with trainers before and would sometimes get lost in a class environment.
From the moment I sat down with Jeremy and Emily in my initial consultation, they really took the time to listen and put together the best plan of attack for me to succeed. I LOVE the semi private classes that they offer because of the ability to work in a smaller setting and get the most out of each session. My biggest achievement by far has been changing my nutrition and losing 31 pounds in 8 weeks!
I had tried many things in the past such as BSC, kickboxing and Crossfit – none of them seemed to work for me. I was tired of being out of shape and having no energy. Then HFF came into picture. After having a one on one with Jeremy, I immediately started to see that I was able to make some improvements. That really kicked me into gear – along with the mindset Jeremy and Emily helped me create – I started to understand that you don’t wish for it to happen, you have to earn your body. That’s what motivates me to come to HFF.
In just 12 weeks I was down 35 lbs. I continue to set personal records on a lot of my lifts including joining the 300 pound deadlift club which I am very proud of. Going to gym used to be brutal. Now I am having fun!
Since starting High Function Fitness I have noticed much more definition and visible muscle in my body since starting. This program is different for me because I am an athlete and have a lot of experience with working out prior to starting High Function Fitness. However, never before have I have I been given the opportunity to grow and learn so much about what my capabilities are and the positive effects I can have on my body by doing the type of fitness that High Function Fitness provides.
My life has been changed by this program. My friends and family could tell you that I never stop talking about this gym and the coaches because they has given me something that I wish everybody could experience. High Function Fitness is not just a gym for me. The changes that I have seen in my life that are not physical outway the physical benefits 9 out of 10 times. The self confidence I have gained from this program stretch much farther than giving you a list of my PR’s and how much weight I can lift off of the floor. This confidence has stretched to every single part of my life. The confidence in being alone, the confidence to speak up and give my honest opinion, the confidence in being completely exhausted at the end of a workout but knowing that I can and will finish the workout. The confidence in doing movements and exercises I thought I would never in a million years be able to do but completing it and having Jeremy standing next to me saying “you can do more”. There are so many small parts of my life that have been greatly benefited by Jeremy and Emily I could never imagine my life without it now. From growing relationships with people to knowing that I can complete a workout RX’d, I truly have seen such a difference. I could never thank Jeremy and Emily enough for taking the time to get to know me as an individual and pushing me outside of my comfort zone every day when I walk into the gym. They know what I am capable of but getting me to know that I’m capable of it too is truly an amazing gift that these two coaches have. That right there is what is what sets Jeremy and Emily apart from any other qualified trainers. They take the time to get to know their members and push them to be the best they can possibly be. That is why I continue to wake up at 6AM everyday and show up at High Function Fitness, because starting off my day in such a positive environment with people who have the same mindset and goals as me, push me to be the best version of myself that I can be.
Jeremy and Emily have two different coaching styles that go so well together and you get so much out of each day of training at this gym. Regardless of their personal moods or how sore they are from their own workouts, they give us smiling faces, a positive environment and encouraging words every single day. That right there is what sets High Function Fitness apart from any other gym that I’ve ever been apart of. Part of the reason why I had so much insecurity when it came to working out was because of previous coaches who never took the time to get to know me and see what coaching style worked for me. A coach would say, “Everything is going to be harder for you because you’re tall” and “You are going to have to work that much harder than everyone else because you’re tall” in hopes that it would motivate me. Although those statements might be true with some exercises, that type of coaching wasn’t one that created motivation instead, it created doubt and fear. Those coaches would have known that if they took the time to get to know me. The difference with High Function Fitness is that instead of pointing out that I’m tall and I need to work harder at certain movements, they showed me what exercises I would be stronger with instead of focusing on the negatives. They take the time to get to know every one of their members as individuals and see what motivates them instead of trying one method for all. It’s their characters and it’s a love for what they do and helps us as members love it just as much.
To anyone considering signing up for a program like high function fitness I would say go in and tell them your goals. Tell them what you want to achieve and tell them about who you are. After that, they will be able to tell you exactly what this program offers and how it can benefit your life everyday. High function fitness is my team and my favorite part about this gym is when the time runs out and the workout is over, it’s not completely finished until you give and get a high five from every person in your class. It becomes your own little community and you become held accountable by the coaches and people in your class. I would say go for it because your life might just be changed for the good.
I consistently started doing semi private classes with Jeremy and Emily in the winter of 2016/2017 when I was home from college on my winter break. This is when I made the conscious decision to take in their knowledge and learn as much as I possibly could from them and their experience so I could finally put aside my overwhelming doubt in myself. When I made that decision, so many doors opened up for me and it allowed so much room for growth. Jeremy has the most amazing ability to put words to exactly what you are feeling throughout a workout. Over time he has gained my trust and if he says that I can do something, I believe him. It has taken much more than my winter break home to break my fear and insecurity with working out and build my mental toughness. I used to mentally check out, want to cry, get down on myself and shut down throughout workouts. Talking and working through what is going on in my head, they have helped me turn my want to break down in tears and feel sorry for myself to me getting angry and finishing the workout to best of my ability. Semi private training has helped build my mental toughness and having that one on one time with Jeremy and Emily has made my experience here so much more enjoyable
“Give us one word that you think is the most important to your success.”
I’ve played team sports my whole life and recently left the Marine Corps after 11 years of service. I needed to be back in an environment where people push themselves and encourage each other. Everyone here has their own personal goals but as a community we are helping each other get there.
I have a 5 month old at home so being awake and making it in for the morning session isn’t too hard. In terms of motivation, I want to set an example for my kids. I also want to keep up with them now and when I’m really really old.
My most exciting accomplishment so far has been my ability to touch my toes! Increased flexibility is mind blowing.
Thrusters are my favorite exercise – regardless of the weight or the reps, it always feels like a great workout if Thrusters are involved.
Give us one word that you think is the most important to your success.
Since joining HFF I have seen the biggest improvements in my mobility and less recovery time needed when doing long distance running.
My favorite part is that everything is scalable so there is nothing to be nervous about.
Looking back since I have joined HFF, I would say that I am most proud about getting in better overall shape and becoming stronger. My favorite thing being able to challenge myself in ways I didn’t think I could before I started at HFF.
I was always into sports as a kid and grew up playing at least one sport at a time. HFF took the spot of playing sports for me in a way. I enjoy coming as much as I can no matter how challenging the work out is. It is an outlet from the everyday life of waking up going to working and then going home. No matter how My day at work was before I go to HFF I am always in a better mood and feel better once I leave. There is also a strong sense of comradery and family that I really enjoy being apart of. Everyone is very friendly and caring towards one another.
Most exciting accomplishment I have done at HFF is by far is my endurance on the assault bike from the first testing week to the second testing week I surprised myself with taking a minute off my 50 calorie bike.
My favorite exercise is anything to do with a pull up bar I like doing any type of pulls ups and I like attempting muscle ups.
The best part of semi private is getting a workout designed for you. I like how you tell Emily and Jeremy what you are looking to get out of working out. They really watch you work out and take the time to correct anything that you are doing wrong and how to do it properly.
One word that would describe my success is dedication. I try and show up and work the hardest I can every time I go.
I have seen the most improvement in everything. I since I have started I have gotten in great shape and feel more confident in every excise that I do.
One piece of advice that I would give to someone that was think about joining but is a little nervous is to come in and to talk to Jeremy and Emily. They are very professional and always have great hair cuts which is important to me. I have been there from the beginning and I have watched not only Jeremy and Emily but the whole gym open up to new members and welcome them in. Don’t be nervous about making a mistake or think your going to look silly because everyone has been there before. More likely than not at the end of your work out people will come over to you and tell you “nice job”.
Playing sports my life has caught up to me with certain injuries but I came to High Function for a better balance of workouts and to get back to having better cardio, mobility, and stamina. My favorite thing about working out is the group workouts because I think it pushes me to work harder or at the very least not slack off as much as I would if I worked out alone!
I try to workout 3 times a week and again mainly because we all ask each other at the end of the workout when we are coming again so it motivates me to keep my word.
The best accomplishment so far is losing weight from the fitness challenge that HFF ran!
My favorite exercise is either jumping rope or the assault bike.
My key to success is determination
I think the most progress since joining HFF is my energy level from endurance based workouts. I am reaching the end of the line for my athletic career but I believe HFF is the key to keeping me from becoming a couch potato which most people my age are. I want to be able to golf, bike and run around with my granddaughter and if I didn’t come to HFF I really don’t believe I would be able to do these things at a level I expect of myself.
I would say quit making excuses and get out of the comfort level you are at. Nothing worthwhile in life is easy nor should it be because to want to feel like you earned it. It has become a social thing as well as a workout and everyone at HFF welcomes anyone new with encouragement and support.
My favorite thing about HFF is the community feel. Everyone is super friendly and very encouraging.
The unique workout schedule helps to motivate me to come to the gym. The four week rotation of workouts allows you to track your improvements week-to-week, so I always try to schedule my gym time on the same days to allow me to see my improvements. You know what your workout will be for the day and you can work on improving aspects of the workout because it will stay the same for four weeks.
This Saturday I will be running the Citi Field Spartan Race. While I’ve run Spartan races in the past, this will mark the first time that I will be running a race solo. Without the help and encouragement of HFF, I would not feel confident about running this race on my own.
My favorite exercise so far has been one we did in my semi-private. Emily had created a mock spartan workout using a sandbag and soft box. We had to get ourselves over the box with the sandbag in any fashion we liked.
At the beginning of this year, I started semi-private training. While the normal class size is on the smaller size, the semi-private sessions have allowed me to focus more on fixing my form and improving my weaker areas. With only 3 people in the group, the workout can be tailored to my personal goals.
Quality – The quality of the workouts and the focus on the quality of the movements has allowed me to see the improvements I have made since I started.
Since joining HFF, I have seen the most improvement in my flexibility (I’m getting closer to touching my toes!) and in my overall confidence in the workouts.
I have never considered myself much of a gym person. I’ve never been comfortable in the traditional gym setting. The hardcore “gym rats” were always intimidating and the atmosphere can feel very isolated and almost unwelcoming. This is not the case at HFF. Everyone I have met at HFF has been incredibly nice and encouraging. The attitude of the workouts focuses on the quality of the movements rather than quantity. Even the approach to the workout schedule is unique with the four week rotation of the same exercises and 12-week testing week. I’ve found that I can actually track my improvements with this type of schedule rather than guess at my improvements with an ever-changing daily workout. I’ve also noticed that it helps motivate me to work harder so that I can see the improvement from the previous week.
In my time training with HFF i have learned more than i ever did in the 15 years working out at a regular weight lifting gym. I learned about working out properly and not always having to slam weights around to see results. I learned that just feeling great after a workout was better than always trying to lift heavier weights when i went to the gym. I learned slow progression leads to better results. Safer movements lead to less injuries. I have gained more mobility and flexibility in my everyday life just from the daily warm ups and stretching and thats something I never got in all my years lifting weights.
Keeping consistent with my workouts is always a challenge. The things that motivate me the most are the monthly changes in the workout routines and always going into class trying to push myself to do better than i did the last class. The coaches are always a huge motivator when they cheer you on to do your best. And i would have to say all the other members. Coming into my normal 5:30 class and seeing people you know is always welcoming. All of us working together to push ourselves to the limit and encouraging one another is always a great feeling to make you come back. And i would have to say sometimes just the sense of a little competition with someone else in class makes you push yourself that much harder.
My biggest accomplishment in my time with HFF would have to be my stamina and endurance. By doing this type of training i have increased my over all energy. I can work for longer and stay at a higher energy level all day than i ever did before. It has taught me to push my body to the limit and a little bit further every time. I can honestly say at 32 i feel better faster and stronger than i ever have.
It’s hard to pinpoint an exact favorite exercise. They are all a love/hate kinda feeling but if i had to say what types are my favorite it would be barbell workouts. Push presses, and deadlifts anything that involves the barbell.
So far in my time with a semi private training session the best part has been just knowing that your getting the direct attention to your specific wants and needs. The coaches will train you in the way you want to be trained and push you as hard as you want to be pushed. They actually care about your overall performance and achievements and always want you to do better.
Determination. I always go into class determined to push myself harder than i did the day before or try something new that i hadn’t done before. And hard work pays off with determination.
I see the most progress in my day to day life. This type of training with HFF has increased my quality of life exponentially. I have never felt better than i do now that i work out this way. My overall energy and mobility has never been better and i feel stronger now than i ever did lifting weights in a gym.
I would say this isn’t a gym its a community and if your looking to increase your quality of life then this is the place you want to be. There is nothing to be nervous about when you come here just go at your own pace and with time you will meet whatever goals you set for yourself with the help of HFF.
I joined HFF in September last year after determining that my membership at another studio was not delivering the activity and programs I needed to improve my health i.e., lose weight, tone, and gain flexibility. I haven’t looked back since.
Results are what have given me the motivation to continue and improve. Jeremy and Emily (and the members) offer the encouragement and expertise – it’s my job to execute.
I have lost almost 30 lbs and 15.5 inches – I am able to do so much more than I did in the beginning. All my test results at the doctor’s last week showed unbelievable improvements – at 63 I am reversing my age limitations!
The cardio workouts are my favorite b/c they are the hardest for me – every time I sprint down that turf I realize it is something I couldn’t have done last year.
Semi-private training is challenging – it’s where you can work specifically in areas that improve your overall endurance and conditioning.
Encouragement would be my one word that has been most helpful to my success. Now I focus less on what I can’t do and more on what I can.
You have to try this…..it’s not easy leaving something you are comfortable with and coming to a new place, but if you are looking for improvement in any aspect of your health or fitness, you need to try HFF – Jeremy and Emily will make it all worthwhile and you won’t look back, either.
After that first week (3 days into it) I could barely move. Prior to that, I thought I was in decent shape because I ran 12+ miles a week and did some lifting at a gym a couple of days a week. HFF has really shown me what “in shape” really is and how to get there. The classes were absolutely essential for me to learn how to work out properly and how to become more physically fit.
The most motivating part for me is the classes – the fact that they are challenging and every 4 weeks they change so you can’t plateau.
My biggest accomplishment so far has been how much I’ve progressed in my deadlifting ability. And the fact that I finished the “ladder down” 10-9-8 …1 workout in less than the allotted time.
My favorite exercise is anything but sled pushing or burpees!
I had an injury (unrelated to HFF) with my neck/shoulder. Emily and Jeremy truly care about getting me back to where I was before the injury, yet the plan is not to rush to get there. They know that to get back there is a process (probably because Emily has been through it personally). So they have made me understand that getting back to normal is truly a bunch of small steps in strengthening and improving mobility. Semi private training sessions is where we concentrate on those steps. Having said that, in regular classes, Emily and Jeremy would always point out modifications or alternatives for certain exercises that they knew I wouldn’t be able to do or that would exacerbate my injury.
Consistency is the key to my success – some days I just don’t feel like going to the class but it’s important to go and give it the best I have for that day.
For me, the major areas of improvement are my conditioning, my strength and my mobility (in that order)
You get all of the personal encouragement and fitness instruction you need from two very knowledgeable, motivated and caring coaches who are doing this because they love it – plus it’s fun. I’ve made friends at the 7 AM class – we work hard, encourage each other and have a few laughs along the way.
My goal when I joined HFF was to feel healthier. I have struggled with my weight for the last 20 years and I really wanted this time to be different. So I did not set a “weight goal” but I did set a life change goal. I wanted to be able to go out and do things without being winded or the slowest person in the group. In 9 weeks I have really started to feel better and feel like I am moving forward with goal to be a healthier person.
The online scheduling tools make it easy to fit my workouts into my life. I love the way that the workout stays the same for several weeks at a time. This really helps me to see my accomplishments and to look forward to the next class so that I can stay on track. Jeremy and Emily are always your biggest cheerleaders. Hearing from them “you can do this” has made me more confident and helped keep me on schedule.
My biggest accomplishment so far is Being able to jump rope! I know that sounds silly but 9 weeks ago I couldn’t make one turn of the rope without tripping and landing on my butt. Now I am jumping rope with everyone and loving it.
I went from dreading everything to looking forward to being able to do a push-up or lift a heavier weight.
When I first joined I really didn’t have the knowledge or confidence to jump right into a class. Going to the semi private training enables me to learn at my own pace and feeling able to move ahead and get into the classes. It’s also a great way for J & E to work with me on things that are specific to my goals.
Jeremy and Emily and the staff have been my biggest key to success. I feel improved stamina and strength since joining HFF. I am lifting more, doing more cardio and loving the way I feel.
If you are not a “gym person” You are me. I’m still “not a gym person”, I made every excuse not to go and work out because I didn’t have the confidence to do it. Thanks to HFF I know I can do it! I look forward to going to the classes and to my semi’s to see what I can do now.
Since starting at HFF I have lost 10 lbs (the healthy way) and went down 2 1/5 pants sizes. The best part is everyone notices, it’s not just me!
I have noticed huge changes in my energy level; it is definitely a lot higher and I am not winded/out of breath compared to when I first started.
I wish I was introduced to this program even earlier, but it’s never too late to start. The best motivating coaches ever! I love how you guys work with us to see what we are doing wrong and to help better us during our workouts. You guys brought the best
out of me. I didn’t think I had it in me. 3 months later, wow did I shock myself!
My biggest motivation is being able to rock cute active outfits, cute sneakers, and Emily’s badass outfits!
This gym is SO different from any other gym I have ever been to. The people are very motivating and we interact like a family! And it is not boring!!!
My biggest accomplishment so far been doing 86 burpees in 7 minutes and not die!
You should sign up! It’s such an excellent environment! You will not regret the end results! Yes yes yes!
The most important key to my success has been getting RESULTS!
I cannot say enough about how much I love HFF. The program is setup so you can easily set goals for yourself and track your progress. I really enjoy the structure of the classes and appreciate how much time Jeremy and Emily spend on explaining what each movement should look like, what the purpose of each exercise is, and how to modify if needed. No matter what your skill level is, you are always able to get a challenging and fun workout done, and a well deserved high five at the end!
Since starting at HFF I have lost weight and gained muscle tone, and I have seen a huge change in my energy level during workouts. I thought I pushed myself before, but this program has taken me to a whole new level. Just when I think I’ve reached my limit, a coach or fellow HFF member motivates me to keep going. I love the way I feel after each and every class!
Seeing changes in my body and the way I feel really motivates me to keep working hard, and when I complete something that I never thought I would be able to do! The HFF Coaches & Members are the most supportive and motivating group you’ll ever see! It’s one big team while you are in class, and you’re all working together to finish strong!
I have been an athlete my entire life so I felt right at home at HFF from the moment I walked in the door. I love how this gym brought me back to my roots in one way, but pulled me out of my comfort zone in so many other ways. I have tried a lot of different workouts over the years, but usually stayed away from any type of heavy lifting because I thought it would make me bulky and I didn’t really know what I was doing. After just a few weeks at HFF I my outlook completely changed thanks to both coaches not only motivating me, but educating me as well. It’s very hard to find group fitness instructors that are the total package! Even in a class of 12+ people; Jeremy and Emily take the time to help each member individually, you can tell they are invested in your personal goals and committed to helping you achieve them.
What is your most exciting accomplishment so far at HFF?
Completing the Whole30 Challenge! In 30 days, I lost about 10lbs and 10 inches overall, and learned so much along the way!
What would you say to anyone considering signing up for a program like this and would you recommend it?
Do it! You won’t be disappointed!
Since joining High Function Fitness I’ve been able to increase my strength but more importantly I’ve seen real improvement in my stamina. The mixed strength and conditioning program Emily and Jeremy have put together has been very effective for me. The positive attitude and continuous encouragement of other members makes me feel success is within my reach.
The most exciting accomplishments for me so far have been setting a new personal record of 235 pounds for my deadlift but I’m more impressed that I can keep going with an intense exercise circuit for over 20 minutes. That is something I’ve never been capable of before. The nutritional challenge’s they are run have also been very effective!
My favorite exercise is the sled push!
I have more confidence in my movement and I generally feel a lot better. No more random aches and pains, more energy while on business travel, and I have to ability to move heavy objects safely as I know how to lift properly.
I’m not your typical “gym person” and HFF people do not have that gym person attitude. Jeremy and Emily will help you ease into the routines safely and at your own level. All you need is the desire to improve yourself, they’ll take it from there. They start all workouts with warm ups and extended stretches and always ask if anyone has any injuries or pain anywhere and will tailor the workout to work for you. I suggest you start with a semi private lesson if you’re worried about just jumping in to a class. The people at HFF are all really nice, don’t have anything to prove, and you’re sure to make new friends there.
I’ve learned so much about my body in the last 6 months – both strengths and relative weaknesses. And that knowledge is extremely valuable both in and out of the gym. I’ve also put on 5 pounds of muscle, although I admit some of that might just be my sweet tooth.I have learned that the key to maintaining a gym routine is making your workout a priority. That means you may have to pass on happy hour or dinner plans, but that’s what’s necessary to establishing and maintaining your routine.
I think the way Jeremy and Emily structure semi-private training is empowering. It’s geared towards consistent improvement and achievement. Jeremy will say to me “I’ve got a number in my head”, and that one sentence is an instant jolt of extra motivation to excel.
The most exciting thing that has happened for since I started at High Function Fitness is accomplishing a 160 yard body weight farmer’s carry.
High Function Fitness is exactly the type of gym for someone who is “not a gym person”. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive.
It’s a unique camaraderie. Every movement can be modified based on fitness level, mobility, etc. And again, you will learn so much about your body and how to improve your overall health. You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish.
Since joining HFF and training with Jeremy and Emily, I have lost over 15 pounds and I’ve gotten my first ever pull up! I’ve also noticed gains in strength and my core. I am the smallest I have been in 7 years!
My favorite thing about HFF is the people. It really makes working out more enjoyable when your doing it with fun motivating people!
I personally LOVE to workout and being in a group setting makes it even more enjoyable. It’s very easy for me to stay consistent with my gym routine because I love it, it’s my “me” time and I’ve made it part of my life. Going to the gym everyday to me is like taking a vitamin, you find a time to get it in! I find it’s easier to workout in the morning, that way the craziness of work and family won’t derail you later in the day.
By far the most exciting thing that has happened since I started training at High Function Fitness is that I’ve lost 15 pounds and can finally see the muscles I’ve worked so hard to get! In addition, I actually get excited when I see my two favorite exercises on the board they are deadlift and kettle bell swings.
The two biggest keys to my success are first, the way in which Jeremy and Emily motivate and push me every day; their knowledge on training and weight loss is second to none. Second (and most importantly) CONSISTENCY, even when I don’t want to get up some mornings I have made the commitment to show up and that’s where my results come from!
The Boston Renegades is a full contact, semi-professional Women’s Football team that has won three national Championships in the last 7 years.
“Prior to our 2015 season we had the incredible opportunity to work with Emily and Jeremy on our conditioning program. They devised and coached us through bi-weekly training sessions and worked with us on general strength and mobility.
What is most striking about this team of coaches is their passion and depth of knowledge coupled with their warmth and approachability.
Our team is comprised of 50 women of various ages, body types, levels of conditioning and fitness history. This wide spectrum of participants could pose a problem for other coaches, but Jeremy and Emily handled it expertly. They composed workouts which were exciting and challenging for each player, without pushing people beyond what was safe or comfortable for them. They paid close attention to players with injuries and offered simple scales or alternatives to movements. Throughout, they were immensely helpful, enthusiastic and encouraging.
Working with Jeremy and Emily was an amazing experience. It gave our team a strong base of conditioning and confidence for a successful season and we look forward to working with them again.”
-Erin Baumgartner, Chief Marketing Officer, Boston Renegades
Since joining HFF I have seen noticeable improvements in my speed and strength. However, I think my confidence in my abilities has improved most of all. A few months ago I would go into workouts nervous that I wasn’t capable of doing certain things and would modify most exercises or opt for lighter weights. Today my attitude has shifted and I go into every workout with the mentality that I can do almost anything (even if I try and fail) and always at least attempt everything RX.
Staying consistent really isn’t hard for me because I genuinely think the workouts at HFF are fun and look forward to them everyday. The fact that I am highly competitive doesn’t hurt either. I love trying to beat my own times or number of reps from the previous weeks.
My most exciting accomplishment at HFF hasn’t happened yet….ask me again after I get my pull ups!! They are coming soon! However, I do get excited every time I am able to beat my own time from a previous week or hit a PR.
Deadlifts and back squats are my favorites. Probably because I can push myself and really surprise myself with what I can actually do.
I love everything about semi private sessions. I like that the programming for each one is a surprise so I don’t have time to dread it, er I mean get excited for it. I also like that each session is always challenging for me specifically and focuses on what I really need to (and maybe don’t necessarily want to) work on. I think that since starting semi private training, Emily and Jeremy are able to coach me better in group classes as well as they know my abilities better.
There are definitely some days that I don’t want to work out. But being consistent and getting into a solid daily routine has made me at least show up everyday and once I’m there my attitude usually changes.
I’ve seen progress in just about everything – strength, speed, energy, confidence and endurance. But I’m most proud of the confidence that I’ve gained to be willing to try almost anything.
I would say that the HFF environment is not a typical gym environment. I struggle with typical gym environments because I get bored easily and lose motivation. I’ve always been more interested in team sports over any gym workout and I think HFF feels similar to being part of a team. The workouts are always challenging and varied so you won’t get bored. And there is a great sense of community so it almost feels like you’re just going to hang out with your friends for an hour each day.
